The problem is that she appears, so far, in no way the kind of person anyone would trust to be at the heart of this particular conspiracy. They would have to have checked her background. There was no way to know what the DA in NY was going to do (unless he's in on it, too!). DSK has top flight investigators on his side-- former CIA folks.They were all over this woman, and knew fairly early on that there were problems with her credibility.
This all proceeds from the assumption that the complainant is too simple-minded to have decided on her own to roll this guy. What the DA has found out about her suggests that she has been involved with some pretty complicated stuff.

True. If this was conspiracy, I wouldn't guess that she was in on it any more than being paid to set him up. But, if it was conspiracy, I'd think that the motive was simply to get him out of the IMF, not necessarily result in a successful prosecution, or see to her getting out of this ok. Whatever the case, my guess is that this woman is a victim.
