I'm not averse to salutations on the front flap but I will never again stoop so low as to annotate. I yielded to the temptation with regard to Piketty and I already regret it.

It's fascinating. At that point, though, it's not a copy of a DeLillo/whatever -- it's a sort of exegesis of DFW that happens to take place in book setting. I'd never be able to, I don't know, read the DeLillo book as itself, while also absorbing the annotations. Terrible.

Sort of like making a sedan into drivable art, which was briefly a huge fad in Austin. Enjoyable to drive by once but a pain in the ass to sit next to for an hour or, god forbid, drive.
