Thanks for the book recommendation, that looks just down my alley; I'll definitely check it out! I was curious, what do you think of Udo Ulfkotte's new book Gekaufte Journalisten? I've got to wait for the English translation, so all that I know about it is just bits and pieces from around the internet.

I'm not sure whether to be flattered or terrified that you think I've even heard of it. I have an inch-deep level of knowledge about a lot of things; if it's mostly been covered in the foreign press, I'm woefully ignorant of it.

But now I've got my eye on it, dammit.

Well you do tend to give off an air of "knowledgeability," but I guess that's more breadth than depth. I only heard about this book a few days ago, so you're not far ahead of me.

The trick is to only open your mouth when you think you know something. When you look at it that way, the overwhelming majority of Hubski that I'm silent on paints a clearer picture of my expertise.

That is good advice. Given that I lack real expertise on pretty much any and all topics, I must rely on my contributions to give off an air of curiosity rather than knowledgeability. The more I know, the more I know I don't know.
