Well...?!

So, the show was at 7:30. We showed up around 7pm and quickly realized there was also a 10pm show. How did we realize this? It was on our ticket. Apparently, I accidentally purchased the 10pm showing via Ticketmaster.

The guy scanning the tickets wouldn't let us in for the 7:30 show, with good reason, I had the wrong tickets. I explained that I had intended to purchase the 7:30 tickets. He said that the 7:30 show was sold out. I then went to the box-office and explained that I had intended to go to the 7:30. She basically said, "we are sold out."

I said, "I'm a father, I have two kids at home and a babysitter, there's no way I can stay for the 10pm show. Is there anything you can do?"

She went on her computer and searched for seats. "I'm sorry sir, but we are completely sold out."

I told her I understood, but that it was too bad because I was a DPAC supporter. I said, "If we have to, we'd take back stage passes." She laughed and said, wait one moment.

She returned and said, "wait over there for a minute," and pointed to the side. We waited and in a few moments she waived us over.

"Okay, I have two tickets for you."

They were about as good as seats get. Three rows back, close enough to see pimples and far enough away to not get picked on. The guy in front of us was took some crap.

Honestly, most people would have just gone to the 10pm show but I live by a simple rule, "you don't ask, you don't get."

It was a blast and for the record, Brooks Wheelan was very, very funny.

Three rows back, close enough to see pimples and far enough away to not get picked on.

Read that the first time through as "far enough away not to pick them." That's awesome though! I've never been to a TV shooting of any sort, but NYC is a bus ride away now, and I do enjoy me some Oliver.
