- I have the average number of teeth

- There is something terribly romantic, don't you think, about couples that bond for life (maybe)

- I love their beautiful ugliness and, I guess you could say, "individuality"

I think it's something about a truly killer combination of independence and for-oneself-ness that the anglerfish embodies, while at the same time, there is this hidden flavor of romanticism in their mating, plus let's just talk about all their cool fucking biological aspects, amirite? Bioluminescence am I right? Mollecular bonding (it is mollecular right?) with their partners amirite? Awesome crazy teeth and spikes, right? Right?

Maybe a whimsical short story in the offing about an anglerfish named Ralph who saves a hapless diver one day who has gotten disoriented in the deep sea and suddenly a little light appears over yonder shoulder and he thinks oh god I've had it, giant anglerfish come to destroy me, but instead the anglerfish is a friendly anglerfish and guides him up, up, like a silent toothy angel taking Enoch to heaven, until he can see sunlight and in those beams of sunlight the anglerfish just sort of fades away, as if Ralph has reached the boundaries of his territory like Tom Bombadil and can go no further so he goes back down

down

down

down

into the depths with his little light flickering, fading, finally -- vanishing.
