I just pulled out the project that I did 3ish years ago. Here are pictures: Not nearly as fancy as the stuff in the link, and I wish I had more time with the machine before I graduated, but it's one of the few projects I did that I actually liked, so whatevs. Burned my finger on the damn glue gun, though. Gah.
Oh woah, that's really neat. Is it all really just paper? Looks like rusted iron from your pictures. And the threading is an interesting touch. I'm thinking about finding a way to get into metalworking or some other sculpting medium where I can make things on a larger plane than, say, a sculpture of a person. I wonder what my college's art dept. will have to offer.
It is indeed paper, I did some mixed spray-painting to try and get that rusted iron effect - which is cool because that means I musta done it right. That would be cool. I would also see if they have their own paper-cutting machine, or even a 3D printer - we have the latter at my University and I'm dying to get some free-time to try it out. If you want to do metalworking, try smithing. Manliest shit on the planet.
Sounds manly, you know, in a Runescape way. I'll let you know how it goes. Similar to my 4th through 6th grades, if it is in fact consistent with Runescape.
