Ever have someone park across your driveway making it impossible to get out? It is rage inducing when you need to get to work. Two business near my work have well labled signs that show a no parking zone along their frontage. The one business has three big bay doors each holding 2-3 large trucks. Several times a month people block the drives. That turns into 2-3 muti worker crews unable to get on site for however long it takes to move the cars. The other business is a smal car repair shop, can't get in the drive can't pay the bills. I wouldn't be too eager to have the city replace the work private companies do right now. Regulate and standardize signage so that it clearly shows no parking zones and only allow reasonable fines and recovery fees. Take away the licences of companis thar engage in unlawful unethical tactics.
Ever have to scrounge up $250 in cash and the title to your vehicle at 4am because you parked in the empty convenience store parking lot when the restaurant was overflowing and a private citizen stole your car? Because that's exactly what's happening. Private citizens are allowed to steal your multi-thousand dollar asset and prove themselves later.
