What is the value you wish to maximize? We should agree on a goal before we discuss methods. Something like this? To improve the well-being, measured by household income, of the neediest American households, measured by net worth. I am willing to agree to this goal, though kleinbl00 reminds us that wetbacks are people too and I would prefer to see them included, and net worth is a problematic measure, but it's probably better to help some people who don't need it than to omit some people who need help. It would also be helpful to know your position on coercion. I gave my position and a practical definition in the earlier thread.
