Minimum wage is extremely bad for the unskilled and unemployed. It makes it even harder to find a job at all. For example, I might have gotten a maid but since the state forces me to pay her an amount of money which is not "deserved", I'll just clean my house by myself.
I've got a couple ladies that come by every three months - well, we've hired them twice since November. There are two of them, they work for 3 hours, I pay them $150. I'm not sure why you think it isn't worth $8 an hour to scrub your toilet. It's totally worth $25 an hour to me to have the place get clean - and I say that as someone with two Roombas and a rug doctor.
