Copenhagen Suborbitals launched their HEAT1X-TYCHO BRAHE today.
If you are not familiar, CS are a non-profit, with the goal of launching one of the two founders into space.
Today's launch seemed to be a mixed bag. I believe the plan was to get higher than the 2.8 km they reached, and there seemed to be a bit of a parachute issue. :)
I find the CS mission to be completely inspiring, however.

Not to mention they have built their own submarine!: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UC3_Nautilus
Cool fact: The rocket uses 'rollerons' for stabilization. These are flywheels that are spun by airflow, and create a gyroscope effect. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolleron
