Yeah. Not nearly as funny when its real. This gets to the bigger issue of internet privacy and security. We need updated laws so that everyone knows what to expect is private and what isn't. Right now, I think its safest to assume everything we put on the web is public.

I know. I feel so incredibly stupid, looking back. And I have no fucking excuse since I had read a bit of history, so can't even claim ignorance. If I had children today, I would absolutely sit them down and make sure they fully understand what's what, and the dos and don'ts of using the networks.

Operating Systems, Devices, Browsers, Biometrics (voice/image), Communities, Search, email, ... did I miss anything? That operation is run by "Agent Metatron" ;)

Do you remember TIA? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_Awareness_Office

I wasn't aware of TIA but it sounds Orwellian enough to be the brain child of the Bush Administration Neocons. My brother just got a new laptop that uses a fingerprint pad instead of a password for logging on. He thinks its awesome; I disagree.

Yikes.

Just found out about this from FSF Foundation. No binary blobs, no locked boot loaders, all open source software: http://www.h-node.com/hardware/catalogue/en

(pimping: support and join FSF :)

Yes, I just got a new laptop, and a lot of them had fingerprint pads. I opted not to. A password is just fine, thanks.
