sadly these threads don't really load for anymore now with the embedded thing but good choices anyway

I concur, it takes my computer maybe three seconds or more to load the thread, when it should have only taken a couple of milliseconds. Embedded videos should be opt-in, I don't mind clicking a link.

I was wondering if it was just me or not, I messaged mk about it -- really not sure if this is thing that can be fixed honestly, just comes with the territory of having a bunch of embeds

One solution I would suggest is allowing them for OPs but not comments

It can be addressed. One solution that Google+ employs is loading a thumbnail, and then clicking on the thumbnail loads the video. Perhaps we will do that.

In the meantime, I added an option to toggle off video embeds. It's in your settings.

Unfortunately, the solution uses javascript, and I'm not really satisfied with that.
