Preliminary guess Brasilia, now I'm off to cheat and find the answer. EDIT: yep. Sounds like an awesome way to spend an otherwise cold part of the year (assuming you normally hang out in the northern hemisphere). EDIT2: added a spoiler thingy

Third picture was a hint in that direction but it could still be Portugal or some modern enclave in Asia, the fourth picture and the text immediately reminded me of the place. No other place has that modernistic, white architecture and inspired sci fi. Brasilia was the epitome of the created city when it was built, and it's a very interesting city indeed. The other pictures were just confirmation. I'd love to go there someday.
