So fascinated by the progress we've made in understanding what in the brain does which and why. Wonder where this will be in a couple decades.
This is one of the better articles I've seen on this study. Some of the other ones I've seen in the past few days go so far as to describe "hardwired differences" that clearly explain that men and women are better at different tasks. One article even brought out that old concept of "left brain/right brain" affinity (i.e., one side of the brain is used for rational thought, one side for creating) which isn't valid. I really appreciate how this article approaches the study and presents a more balanced view of things, bringing in experts who have commentary like and"We know that there is no such thing as 'hard wiring' when it comes to brain connections. Connections can change throughout life, in response to experience and learning."
"A more subtle possibility is that bringing a child up in a particular gender could affect how our brains are wired"
That last quote is particularly interesting. There's the old "raised by women" thing ... it's almost like we've come full circle from superstition to science. EDIT: or that we've finally embraced like a 60/40 approach to nature/nurture as opposed to the idiotic black and white version.
