It really never made sense to me why there was seemingly zero investment in an "eye in the sky." I mean, just take a look at this. I think we can do better, and should have some kind of mitigation strategy.

Enjoyed this read. I hadn't thought about the fact that the data we gathered was a first. Never have we had the ability to see/measure a meteor explosion while and after it was happening. The video footage was amazing.

Why is Russia the land of dashboard cameras? I didn't realize this.

There's widespread insurance fraud in Russia, but there's also quite a bit of corruption within police ranks, so drivers will usually install a dashboard camera to defend themselves. http://www.rferl.org/content/dash-cams-russia-fighting-corru...
