Visits to hubs can count as clicks on stream links from that hub and the algorithm for publishing content to the stream can be weighted exponentially.
How about instead of an algorithm that does it for you, there is a score next to each of your hubs to show you which ones provide content that you share the most or least? That way you can decide what to drop, but your friend's hub won't be pushed off your list by accident.
Can you adjust the links for the hubs in the profile with wheels of their own and the spokes of the wheel being its score.

First off, there are technical benefits of a limit. If you follow 1000 people, it's tough on Hubski. But, more importantly, having a limit creates a value to the act of following. Since posts are shared, following one person can bring you many posts. So, if you are discerning about... No. Actually, I drank too much to make sense of this. I'll try again tomorrow. :)
