From 3:36, there's a POV of the now nonexistent tram that used to go through the city. I stumbled upon this while researching the history of where I live, and I found this footage absolutely fascinating. Normal daily scenes from the same streets I walk, only they're from 97 years ago.
This is incredible. Just imagine: In a hundred years, kids who want to learn about the last century will be able to watch it in HD... If anyone else is interested in this kind of stuff, I can highly recommend to check out this video of the daily life in London in 1903(!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-5Ts_i164c
Here's another video of scenes from London, in full colour, from 1927. (In fact, I just looked up the cinematographer who took it and apparently this is his "The Open Road" movie, of which there are extended videos.)
Have you seen the NYC recreation project? http://www.nyc-grid.com/
Damn that's amazing! I can lose hours in those historic city websites. For instance, this picture of a theatre from 1895 is still standing and used as a theatre.
