Thanks for engaging with the deeper thought, lil. This was really my intent with this post. We don't talk a lot about death in American culture, and we should. It's something that is going to happen to all of us in many different ways - Orlando, loved ones, ourselves - but we always abstract it, and deflect, and anonymize it. It should mean something when someone dies. Shouldn't it? That may be the ultimate rhetorical question. And maybe the most important one we ask ourselves, our family, our friends, and our loved ones.
