It means I can write a Sherlock Holmes fan fiction, and selfpublish it!! It's tempting! A few weeks back it was "the Little Prince" from Saint Exupery who went public. Except some greedy right owner managed to keep a copiryght on all the characters... So no little prince, or fox, or sheep-in-a-box fan fiction.
