There is definitely a transformation that can happen after reading a poem. This is a magical process, no doubt about it. I enjoy your poems Rico, I enjoyed reading your take on poetry too. Great interview!Poems are magic because they are spells designed to create a particular experience for a reader/listener. The writer crafts the poem with intention, but can only guess at what that experience will be: the consumer is not usually known to the writer. Magic is slippery stuff and relies heavily on the human touch to succeed, if at all.
