Fuck that guy, too. "I own a Behringer cable tester because I herp derp never realized that anyone else made them herp derp" says the guy holding a Behringer rip-off of a weird DSI piece nobody uses because everyone uses ProCo or Hosa and has since the dawn of fucking time and the reason Behringer ripped off DSI rather than ProCo or HOsa is because ProCo and Hosa had both already sued Behringer and won so if they did it again they'd be in deep shit. You own a Behringer because you're a cheap fuck who gives no shits about who makes your gear who is only famous for dumping your shitty unlistenable album for free on What.cd.

5:03 - "I just wish that Dave Smith and Uli Behringer would just have an MMA match for charity and be done with this whole thing."

Which Dave Smith? This Dave Smith? The guy who created the Prophet 5, invented fucking MIDI, headed the R&D departments that created the DX7, Prophet VS, Korg Wavestation, Creative Labs Soundblaster, and THEN founded Dave Smith Instruments? That guy? You're gonna bothsides THAT GUY?

I get the feeling that Alesis isn't much better.? :(

My mainstays are an AKAI controller, M-Audio external soundcard(s), ART tube amps, no guitar worth more than $250, and a Roland electronic drum set from at least a decade ago.

Still haven't built amps for these Klipsch speakers, though the day will probably come within 6 months. Supposedly. One of my other techhead bandmates will help advise.

Edit: I also have a Fender Mustang 1 POS amp. If anything I play sounds OK on that thing, I know I'm in good shape.

Alesis is fine. They set out to make cheap, quality gear. ADATs weren't great but for the money they were fucking phenomenal. I owned 3 of them. MidiFEX, Quadraverb 2, Midiverb IV, SR-16, trying to think of what else Alesis I've owned. They had a big dumb mixing console that nobody with any sense bought but I mean... the SR-16 was introduced in 1992. I know kids with kids who weren't introduced in 1992. What killed Alesis was the A6 Andromeda, a big dumb analog synth that sounds like shit and was introduced in an era when Native Instruments was already selling Reaktor, Absynth and Massive. I was having this discussion with goobster and using the Andromeda as an object lesson when I discover that they're going for thousands of fucking dollars which says a lot about the neofetishism driving keyboard purchases these days. Fuckin' $550 for a CZ101.

Buy an amp. They're cheap. There's like a page and a half of Crowns on eBay for less than $100.

    Buy an amp.

Yeah I was looking at the Line6 Helix the other day thanks to this video, but I'll have to settle for something used or somehow less expensive. I'll check out Crown amps, thanks. :)
