Meh. My car was parked peacefully, so I was not involved. It was a rare one person, four car incident. They informed us that she lived at least an hour after the accident, so they didn't consider it a crime scene (which is fortunate from the overall headache perspective). On the upside, I got to go car shopping yesterday, which is always fun!

Wow. Glad your car was parked and you weren't in it! Hope the driver is okay. That's a New Year's Eve type accident. Good luck with the car shopping. Planning on getting the same thing again or going for something different?

Not sure yet. I only drive GM, so those are my options. After looking at all the incentives it there right now, my heart says Silverado, but my wallet says Cruze RS hatchback. The Terrain also had good incentives at the moment, but I really don't like them. Anyway I haven't actually gotten official word that my car is totaled, but I strongly suspect it will be. The wire back end, incline the frame and c-pillars are fucked. The car is worth about $19k, so reaching the 75% threshold won't be too hard under those circumstances.

All rear end damage though might be worth buying back and reselling. Salvage folk love cars like that might make an extra couple grand for the hassle.

Why the GM loyalty? Work related or otherwise? The Cruze wouldn't be my first pick for 20k but that's just me. A used Silverado that I could get behind. Probably the best used full size truck for the money.

My wife is GM white collar, so the lease deals I qualify for are sometimes unreal. It depends on the month though, so right now the three I mentioned above are what they're offering for a price. I doubt I'd be too excited to drive a Cruze (and the sticker on a loaded RS is like $29k), but I only lease for 24mo at a stretch, so not a big deal.

29k for a Cruze ! Holy crap. Hopefully they give you a $200/month lease or some other super sweet deal. The Hatch back looks pretty good though. A lot better than their previous itterations and a solid contender with the ford focus. Not sure why one would chose one over the other .

It really doesn't take much to total a car these days. My vote is for the Cruze RS hatch, cause I love hatches.
