I found myself on Bernie Sanders' website today reading his statement on the alleged violence and all of the other nonsense in Nevada.
While I was there, I had a few free moments, so I clicked on "Issues" and quickly scanned the 34 listed issues. I even read a bit about Guam... because holy crap - Guam is an issue? well it is - but that's not what this post is about - this post is just a quick observation. Senator Sanders offers 34 issues for me to read about, learn about, study, etc.
So this got me thinking... off to Donald Trump's website I went.
Issues? He lists 7 positions... and one of them is the wall. and one of them is the guns. I guess I won't discount those two positions (as much as I would like to), Mr. Trump is taking 7 positions.
Lastly - I meandered over to Secretary Clinton's website. She lists 31 issues.
I'm not suggesting that the number of issues (or positions) is something to judge a candidate by. This is simply an observation that some candidates seem to have thought through real issues that effect the lives of everyday US citizens, and some have not.
Get informed kids. It's certainly time that I do.
I hadn't seen Trump's site since it essentially just said "I'll build a wall!" It has become far more entertaining since then. An example from the Israel video: "I love you Israel ... I want to remain as neutral as possible" Worth some laughs, shortly followed by abject terror when one tries to calculate how many people he's already convinced with this kind of tosh. Hillary has some pretty good causes on her issues list, but several/most of them smack of doublespeak and special interests. ("Campaign finance reform"? Give me a break.) The Sanders issue list really does stand out as heartfelt and informative. Very good find - thanks for the reading material!
We should build one giant wall to make up for all the people who don't have four small walls!
