Aw what's wrong with Corona? It's so easy to stomach..

It's flavor is simple and actually not all that very good. Still though, it's a step above swill like Budweiser and Miller.

I guess I like the simple ones.. Cause I'm also a fan of Budweiser! The NZ beers are a tad too over powering for me - I don't have the chops to be beer connoisseur.

I guess I'm a Budweiser fan now that they bought Elysian, so no judgement here.

RIP Elysian. All the buyouts of craft breweries makes me sad but it's also to be expected in such a competitive market.

Did you see BrewDog's blog post about the buyouts of this year? They mentioned Elysian specifically as a massively sad one.

I'm not a beer snob but I think anything in a clear bottle is gross

...I think anything in a clear bottle is gross

Surely you're not disparaging High Life?!?!

tacocat  ·  3018 days ago  ·  link  ·

I will drink High Life out of a can. It's the champagne of beer. But I believe clear glass makes beer skunky

user-inactivated  ·  3018 days ago  ·  link  ·

It comes in 32 oz bottles because they know no one can drink a 40 of it.

Sounds fair really. I'm actually quite a fan of that Budweiser - but NZ beers I find too.. over powering with their taste so I really go for the foreign stuff.

I had a really good chocolate porter in NZ... I think it was a Boundary Road Brewery one? It was delicious.

user-inactivated  ·  3018 days ago  ·  link  ·

Oh yeah Boundary Road! I used to live literally down the road from where they were first brewed.

Even if you didn't like the taste, the names were great. That porter you speak of was Chocolate Moose. The Flying Fortress is the NZ Pale Ale. My fave is the Chosen One, the lager.

And then there's Jack the Sipper. Lawn Ranger. Mumbo Jumbo. Stolen base and the Bouncing Czech!
