Based on what I've seen manifest, the Tea Partiers are just standard Rublicans that are for big government when it comes to military spending and legislating socially, and small government for social programs and tax revenue. They just rebranded themselves without regard for the origin of the movement under the Bush years. I don't think there are, or ever have been, many 'Tea Partiers' against government interference in women's health truly.

While I get what you are saying, those who argue against abortion, etc, are not arguing against women's right to chose what to do with their body. They are arguing for the life of the baby which they views as a fully living and right-deserving human.
You can never win an argument if you never actually address the points the other side is making.

excellent point. I'm having trouble remembering my state of mind when I posted this comment so long ago - but based on my use of the sarcasm tags, I was making a joke… which may or may not have been appropriate given the subject matter that usually pulls people strongly in one direction or another.
I sincerely hope I did not offend.
"The politicians and their ilk who are hell bent on reintroducing reproductive freedom as a “campaign issue,” have short memories. Of course they have short memories. They only care about what is politically convenient or expedient." This is what bothers me most about politics. It's so rare to find a politician that isn't championing that which is currently popular. I guess that just means they don't "lead".
