- Now, the Vatican is signaling the possibility of a softer approach to the gay community. "Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer to the Christian community," the synod's newly released report says. "Are our communities capable of providing [a welcoming home], accepting and valuing their sexual orientation, without compromising Catholic doctrine on the family and matrimony?"
One thing I've never quite understood is why it matters what the Vatican says. Shouldn't Catholics or anyone else make up their own minds after critical thinking? I understand herd mentality is a strong force, but Jesus, think for yourselves my friends.
Thems lots of thangs. The Catholic church has a lot of ground to cover if they want future generations outside of the third world to care about them.
Atheism, or at least, a lack of formal, structured (Tithe-paying, say it softly) religion is on the rise, and is only becoming more prevalent. That being said, those in abject poverty are more likely to be religious, and those in abject poverty are also more likely to have lots of children, and because of modern medicine, lots of those children will survive. So I don't know what I'm actually saying anymore.if they want future generations outside of the third world to care about them.
that we aren't really going anywhere fast, we just tell ourselves we are?
Maybe. I don't know. It's late, I had an exam today, stayed up too late studying last night, I had a shitty day today, and the day before an old musty skeleton pulled itself out of its crypt and danced in my face. Short version, Christianity hurt me, and has caused members of my family a lot of grief. I'm going to be against it(And most organized religion) directly for a long time.
