Simon and Garfunkel. It's old, but I love it.:
Disappointed. Democracy as it is today is nothing more than a charade. We don't really have the power to change anything, money is the only thing that can. But even if we did have the power to change things I still don't think that's necessarily a good idea. The quote by George Carlin "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that." perfectly explains why I don't think democracy is a good idea at all.
You're definitely right, but saying that they where part of the punk community is speculation as well. With the information presented in the article we do not know if the attackers where part of the punk community, and therefore titles as "Transphobic violence in the punk community" or "Laura Jane Grace Talks with Fan About Transphobic Assault in the Punk Community" are misleading (as well as my own claim that it was an attack from outside the community). "Punk artist attacked by transphobic people" would have been a more honest title.
The title is a bit misleading, it seems to suggest that this was violence within the punk community, whereas the article seems to suggest that this was an attack from outsiders: No. There was a big Frenzal Rhomb show down the road. It finished at about 11:30. So it may have been that they’d come from it. But no, they didn’t look punk to me. Maybe they were from out of town. They didn’t look like they were from Sydney. The one thing that is really heartening about it all is just how people in the trans community and in the music community as well have stood up for me. I’ve had heaps of support. People have been really good. So it seems that she did get a lot of support from the punk community, but that there were some assholes from outside that attacked her.
Were the people who attacked you there for the show or did they just happen to be there? Were they punks, is basically what I’m asking.
The climbing gym. I picked up my old climbing hobby a couple of months ago, and now I'm climbing as much as I can. I love to climb, and it is one of the few places where I can just relax without being bothered. No phone calls, no emails, just having fun on the wall with some awesome people over there.
Little Red Riding Hood in Dutch, for no reason whatsoever.
