I'm a pretty big hip-hop fan and I've been listening to J. Cole's Born Sinner which dropped on June 18 along with 'Ye's and Mac Miller's (who I just saw in concert two weeks ago in Myrtle Beach) albums. Reaction to this album seems to be mixed for the most part (so it goes with J. Cole's entire discography) but in my opinion it's the strongest release of June 18. I love the way this album opens with Villuminati. Another one of my favorite tracks is LAnd of the Snakes--that Outkast sample! A huge theme of the album is money, and not just throwing it in the club. The Mo Money interlude is fire. My favorite track on the album, Rich Niggaz, shows (besides Cole's lyrical capabilities and signature flows) that he really has something to say, and that 'money is on his mind', truly in more ways than one. Finally this Ain't that Some Shit interlude has been on repeat for me, just straight fire even though I wish badly that it was longer.
