I really can't get through to you guys how bad Cumberbatch was in this.
And man, if anyone figures out who that girl was they will be a hero to everyone.
I think it must be Jacqueline King. You would think that would be easier to verify. I'm pretty sure you talked me out of this one. I am no Cumberbatch fan to begin with.
You know a movie's not going to be great when it starts out strikingly similar to Star Trek: Insurrection. Also, space nazis.
That's a bit silly. It's a completely different role -- and I imagine he plays the antihero a lot better than he plays the villain. I will say that if you haven't read any of the Conan Doyle stories, the show won't mean as much (anything at all?) to you. I'm going to wait and torrent ST:ID, so I reserve judgment on how well Cumberbatch did in it. I could see him being a bit too understated for a villain's role, but I could also see him capturing the chilling danger that the best villains exude onscreen.I almost don't want to because of this movie. I mean, I liked it overall, except for Cumberbatch.
