it's legal federally, but regulated by a few states. if it's legal in your state, you should be able to buy kratom powder in a head shop, but it's cheaper online. you can also buy extract in nice little single doses, but you'll pay a premium. i doubt many online stores will bother checking the laws before they ship to you.

you can get a decent buzz off kratom tea, it's comparable to poppy pod tea or a few vicodin. i always did it on the stove, which was a hassle, but supposedly it can be done in a coffee machine. you can also just straight-up eat the powder but i'd advise capping it first because it's completely unpalatable.

if i had a choice between poppy pod tea and kratom tea, i'd take the poppy pod tea. it tastes better and is generally less silty, but i suppose that depends on your preferences and production process. i've heard that poppy pod prices have gone up so it's comparatively more expensive but i don't know much about it since i haven't done this kind of thing in a few years.

and of course, be careful. as with any opiate, shit can get out of hand
