I remember when he kicked this off on r/lotr with just a couple of family trees, so I was looking through the (much-expanded) genealogies he's got up now and I noticed that he includes "non-canon" characters (disputed in some way) ... one of which is Amarie, wife/partner of Finrod -- but I thought she was a canon character. I'm certain that the Silmarillion mentions Finrod's beloved who he leaves in Valinor when he follows his people to Middle-earth, and I'm assuming it's the same elf. That would make her canon beyond reproach, I think. Tolkien Gateway neither confirms nor denies, and it's possible I'm mixing up which Noldorian prince left behind a wife [edit: nope], but dammit now I'm up in arms. EDIT: just tried to ctrl+f through my epub copy of Sil but Calibre wouldn't let me. To hell with this.
