The environment in that cigar shop look like the most cordial place in the world. My local cigar shop is run by an angry old man, so it's not too much fun to go there.

Wasn't it in black and white? And I think even if it were in color and the camera was always angled to the center it would have come off the same way. I remember my grandpa in the Dominican Republic would always play dominoes with his friends at the country club our family would go to (it really wasn't too prestigious). He always seemed to be having a blast talking to his friends, formulating strategies. To be honest it may have been the only time I saw him smile. But yeah. Whenever you get people together with at least one thing in common, even cigars, you're sure to have a good time.

The link didn't work. What was the name of the cigar shop again?

Oh yes, it was beautiful. I haven't been back to the DR for about 6 years now, but my family used to go every summer to visit because that's where all of my mother's family lives. I haven't been back yet since my grandfather passed away, but I can't wait to go back. Life there honestly is incredibly pleasant.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Come to think of it, I do have some pretty unique stories about the times I was in the Dominican Republic. Haha, this one comes to mind:

My grandmother lives in an apartment complex that shares one parking lot. Every single morning, this man drives up with a HUGE truck with the back filled to the brim with fruits and vegetables. He has an intercom attached to his truck, so you can always here him driving up. In his annoying distrincly central Dominican accent he yells "I have guavas, bananas, mango. I have lettuce, grapes, plantains." My grandma would go to the balcony and begin to barter with the man, yelling at him down in the parking lot. She would always always get her fruits and vegetables for less than he was offering, which wasn't much to begin with. If a banana was 5 pesos, she'd get it for 3 (keep in mind, it took about 36 Dominican pesos to make one USD). I've kept this barter mentality with me all my life.
