IMO, if this was a Tea Party event, it would have cable news coverage. Not necessarily because of the politics involved, but the Tea Party has wealthy well-connected donors behind it. In this situation, media creates a perception bias wherein monied positions are legitimized long before unfunded ones are. The left might do well to create a crowd-sourced kickstarter-like fund that put money behind PR to publicize positions that benefit groups of people, as opposed to those that serve (and can be funded by) select interests.
Gosh, this was a long time ago that you posted this. What do you think now? Is it getting more coverage? I think so. I think the problem now, is that it's getting biased coverage. The media likes to pick out the most idiotic of the people and display the occupation as a bunch of lazy hippies unaware of their countries policies and history. This is despicable. It's a perfect example of who they are not showing.
