Cassowaries are actually really cool birds. They're beautiful and colorful, they're inspiringly athletic, and they have some nifty behavioral attributes. They get a really bad rap for some reason (people love to sensationalize animals) but their deadly interactions with people is pretty exaggerated. That said, if you get anything from that Wikipedia link, it's "don't fuck around with wildlife."
