Interesting topic. I haven't really thought about font size since I was trying to stretch research papers to the required length. I'm glad this article gave me a reason to think about it again for a different reason.

I'm curious about what the article says about serif and sans serif an readability. My guess is that it would be format, font, and context dependent. I've always found Futura (which is sans serif) to be a very readable font, even when it was small and dense. The same goes for Lucida, which is what these comments are in.
