I thought this was pretty neat. You may not know but the early viruses and attempts to display fancy animations and graphics in small packages basically started the demo scene. Now you can go to sites like pouët.net to see the same awesome talent without having to catch anything nasty.
The Archive.org have got a pretty small collection at the moment, I hope to see more added -- but removing the malicious code is a very time-consuming task so we'll have to see if that happens. I feel it's also against the spirit of archiving and is more akin to presenting an art gallery... but hey.
I find old viruses extremely fascinating. Destructive payloads aside, they are really cool and visually impressive and are one of my favorite things to watch on YouTube.Far more interesting than the modern VB interface that says "You have virus, give me money" malware that have become popular these days.
