I like giving earbuds. Just a $10 or $20 pair. I find a lot of people lost their headphones frequently, don't have any, or will be getting an upgrade when you give them the headphones. Hell, I have a couple pairs of expensive headphones and I'd still love to get a cheap pair. Perfect for running, the bus, or even as a backup.
