"Sleep paralysis has tormented me since childhood. But now it’s my portal to out-of-body travel and lucid dreams."
Although this condition is very rare in me, sometimes it happens. More than once I felt the breath of an angry cat on my neck. And I could feel it walking over me. And I just couldn't move. It's frightening sometimes.
By the way, I have no cats.
awesome that you posted this. For the summer of my junior year in high school i put most of my time into meditation and trying to induce lucid dreams/OBEs. From then on i only knew the "spiritual" context of what i was doing, but the neuroscience is fascinating.
Yes, neuroscience is fascinating indeed. As soon as we understand that some reactions of our body are provoked by our brain, and it's just nature at work, some fears go away. Many things get clear. Meditation, as a study of ourselves, also helps us to understand that. :D
