On Sept. 7, an anonymous user of social media platform Weibo posted what claims to be a first-hand account of the explosion, from a home merely blocks away. The author has not responded to a Weibo message seeking comment, and Foreign Policy has not been able to verify the account’s particulars. But the narrative caused much discussion in Chinese social media, with over 80,000 shares, before it was deleted.
