I get on here just about every day towards the end, because there's not enough content to be lost by not getting on more frequently. I usually browse the newest global posts and either find something I like and support it, or find something that I don't like and project my self-hatred unto it to feel better. I really don't spend a whole lot of time on here, unless I comment, because I like to write manifestos; which means that I'm either on here for 10 minutes or an hour and a half. I'm not a big reader and I can't focus, so I usually just read self posts or skim the headlines for something interesting, read the article (well, most of it if it's long), and make a response. Sometimes there's nothing I really feel like reading about on the site, so I just get off until the next day. It's not like Reddit, the only other site I go on, where if I'm not on at least twice in the day, I might miss something big, so I just get on at night and catch up for the day. It's like a newspaper for me, except I end, rather than start, my day with it. I keep coming back, because I like the people and discussion on here. I like seeing familiar faces, because I spend most of my day alone, due to a really screwed up sleep schedule that keeps me from spending a lot of time with my family or friends. Even then, I don't know the people here enough to really take it personally if I get grilled for something. I don't like to back down, and will fight someone if they have an attitude and a half assed answer, but I will take advice from people here to heart. Also, I really like the fact that the top comment to every single post isn't a joke, with a bunch of people clamoring to find something "witty" to retort in hopes of climbing to the the top for that sweet trickle down karma. Seriously, some threads I see on Reddit look like the gaming club's improv team upon seeing a girl; It's just kind of sad and weird.
Do you believe that you're missing stuff out if you're not visiting Hubski and/or Reddit? From what I understand, they're your most prominent news sources. Do you believe that, by not visiting them, you'll lose touch with the world?because there's not enough content to be lost by not getting on more frequently
It's pretty sad in my opinion, but yeah. I've gone though stints where someone will say something about a current event, and I'll be taken back and ask "Wait, what happened?" I wish there were other places I got my news, but Reddit and Hubski are the only places that I really visit. It kind of sucks, because unless the communities deem an event relevant to their bias, it will never show up. In that quote, I was more or less saying that I can get on once a day here and see every post from today, however.
