I'm not trying to attack you, just playing devil's advocate, but do we really understand 42? Sure, we can break it down into its primes, we can manipulate it, we can modify it, but does that mean we understand it? Is it really that simple of a number? Are any numbers that simple? I mean, look at 1. It's got all kinds of weird properties to it! Maybe someday we'll find similar properties for 42. Hell, once you start changing bases that numbers gets weird anyway!
