I agree with most of this article and find it relevant to myself and my life going forward, however I take issue with the idea that we're going to make "perfect children". I don't think we could ever reach perfection, even if we had a clear definition of what perfect was, which we do not. And I don't think I'd ever want to. I think that if we did do as the article said and removed our little idiosyncrasies with implants and genetic tailoring, we'd lose much of what makes humanity so special and unique. That is not to say that the technology wouldn't be helpful, for example, ensuring your child doesn't have any serious genetic diseases, but I think completely readjusting a human being via technology is something that would hinder our world, not help it.

I agree. Also, Gene editing can only do so much--treat incurable disease being one of them--a perfect child ain't one of them. Besides, I don't agree that marriage won't make sense if we live for a thousand years. If any, it would probably make couples and families stay together more.
