Mozilla has announced that Firefox will undergo some dramatic changes, following the three pillars of the new Firefox: Uncompromised quality, Best of the web, and uniquely Firefox.
Cool. I hope they do a good job so I can abandon Chrome again. I don't like giving all my info to one company, and Google already has my email.
Chrome is a little quicker and prettier. That's it, really. I've actually been using Vivaldi lately.
Vivaldi looks interesting, but I don't really trust anyone who has had any involvement in Opera... Opera could be good at times, but they consistently made poor decisions. One example, putting ads inside the browser itself. As for quickness, after using uBlock (with default deny) on both, and NoScript on Firefox, they tend to be equal. I know Chrome has script blocking plugins, but they are never as good as NoScript.
It is. Some of the features haven't been implemented yet, but it looks promising.
I really hope Mozilla turns it around. It really sucks to see what was once king of the alternative browsers be slowly pushed more and more out of the market. They always campaigned for an open and transparent web, and always advocated for digital privacy. I haven't liked the past few changes that they've made to Firefox as they attempted to be more Chrome-like, but I still genuinely support the browser in its efforts to continue with what it's always championed.
