The link that thenewgreen posted here explains things nicely. We are now integrating with a SQL database, and will be replacing the use of files which the original news.arc app employed. There is a lot of behind the scenes action going on there at the moment, and we will be posting some updates/insights soon as things progress. Also, we have decided to open source.
