Cinnamon 2.6 has been officially released with many interesting changes and improvements. Cinnamon 2.6 will be used in Linux Mint 17.2 "Rafaela" that is planned to be released in end of June. In this article I'm going to review this release and tell you how you can install it on Ubuntu or derivatives. I hope you will like to use it. One more thing, when you use it please give your feedback.
Cinnamon it's an awesome DE, a very good alternative to Gnome and Unity
Yes I like it too. This is the first environment that I started using Linux with. Really easy to use interface and awesomely designed.
I started with Gnome 2 on Ubuntu, really old times haha. The Mint team did a awesome work with Cinnamon, before using Xfce on my current machine I used Cinnamon
The best thing about cinnamon is that for Windows users Cinnamon is very familiar. That's why I always recommend a Windows user to start using Linux with a Cinnamon desktop environment.
