Really fantastic. I feel genuine confidence in what you are doing here. Do you still paint? It seems that you did quite a bit at least at one time. I'd love to see the one you gave to your mother, if possible.

Thank you, mk! The confidence is in the lines. I'm a hack of a painter but would not feel immodest in claiming to be a draughtsman. While I did my first oil painting when I was 12 (our gardner back in Tehran) it has always been an intermittent activity. But I draw constantly so my hand does not hesitate.
Haven't painted since 1995. I am getting back to painting too. (I'll try and snap a pic of Mom's painting tonight.)

I was just referring to aspects of work that reveals a certain confidence. It's something that can't be imitated, only grown over time, -one of those things that you wish you could conjure, but can't. The lines in your drawing tell me that you've done this before.
I love that aspect of creating. Part of it is always finding out about something that is taking place inside you, beyond your direct control. *edit
