It doesn't suck. Or it does; the title is confusingly written. There are two possible interpretations:

1) that women are happier in relationships in which their partner knows that they are miserable, and yet does nothing about it (or indeed actively and intentionally maintains or exacerbates said misery) and

2) that women are happier in relationships where their partners are better able to interpret their behaviour, to understand how they feel and to empathise with them - and thus to resolve conflicts and problems in the relationship, and to facilitate emotional connection.

Agreed, I first read it as being that women are happier when their man is miserable? As if the evidence showed women had vindictive relationships.

Still not quite sure what the original interpretation was.
