What is the difference between image hosts like imgur and pinterest in terms of legality? You hear outraged photographers on reddit and tumblr quite often getting mad about people rehosting the image and sometimes removing the watermark. Why aren't image hosts more scared like this woman supposedly is?
Because they have safe harbors immunity through Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and the DMCA.
