- Over the years, I have watched Ferguson whenever I could, which was far from often enough. His embrace of the unstructured sometimes resulted in failures, and Ferguson, like many Scots, can be a little shouty. (His is a terrible show for a viewer with a hangover, but it’s perfect for someone still buzzed after a night out and not yet ready for bed.) Ferguson says that he is working on a new television project. Until that launches, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy his talents. He has written a novel and a memoir, and scripted the film “Saving Grace.” Those suffering from acute withdrawal can always tune in to “Celebrity Name Game” for a more subdued dose of his wit.
Thank you for that read. My wife and I have a compounding regret about Craig Ferguson's show ending. We live ten blocks from the CBS Television City entrance at Beverly and Genesee. We moved here three years ago and kept saying, "we should call to get tickets. It's closer than the Grove!" We screwed up. We'll have to wait for the next epic, off-kilter CBS production in Los Angeles.
I didn't really discover the Late Late Show until around a year ago. Instantly hooked. In case anybody is unaware, all of the episodes (at least from the last couple years) are available on YouTube. I was lucky enough to be able to go to the December 9th taping a couple weeks ago, and happened to get a seat in the front row. You can spot me a few times if you know what I look like. I'm cautiously optimistic about the new Late Late Show (especially with the recent announcement that Reggie Watts will be the new band leader). Hopefully James Corden will be good - when he was on the intro sequence with Craig last week he seemed pretty charming. Very much looking forward to what Craig's "new project" (not Celebrity Name Game) will be.
