Great quote from a top-rated comment: "the more people are on this list, the easier it is for real terrorists to plot something." Perhaps, and I know I'm just hoping here, but perhaps even people within the NSA considered their tasks b.s. and this was part of their own sabotage. "Track everything, make the data useless, claim we did what we could when the next horror happens."
